| Today was (window) shopping + behave like a tourist day with Woman. We didn't go to Joo Koon. She wants to get a best friend shirt like ahem oh my lord I'll think abourit ok Woman heh it was a good day shopping and gossiping and appreciating the ahem lush greenery and breath-taking scenery of Singapore :) Ok v. tired now am going to continue my GG marathon tonight with my sister - apparently I've got her hooked on it too :) | |
|
| The last time I watched Rafa was ... during the Davis Cup finals which was such a long time ago :( Hm maybe not it was last week I think? But it feels as though it happened ages ago, probably because I was covering my eyes during the extremely scary Berdych match - which he won haha. Anywaaaaay I feel really free now heh no more work!! I'll miss the people at Norton Rose, but I'm looking forward to being able to wake up at noon again. Next week will be a good week; Shreya and Grace are back already and we're all going to visit Gladys! Then Wednesday I'm supposed to meet the Buns(or half the Buns), and on another day Woman and I are going to explore Joo Koon because we are very curious as to what's there. Hahaha then I'm going to Bangkok the week after whoo can't wait to go shopping!! I opened Limewire and everything was in Chinese why like that!!! Well anyway I've got my Lion King soundtrack and I love it, the songs are epic and now I really want the soundtrack for the second one because Upendi is awesome. As are the rest of the songs, of course. Piano concert is tomorrow I can't believe I'm playing ugh :/ (Haven't been watching GG cannot find any S3 episodes I am sad) | |

Tweaks and enhancements- As a number of you reported, a service interruption impaired sending and receiving notifications for a couple of days. This was due to an avalanche of snowflake cookies. We've removed the free snowflake cookie and unclogged the pipeline. Timely notifications should resume shortly. Please note that there's a backlog in our queues, so you'll be getting earlier notifications first. For more details, check out this post at
lj_maintenance. - In anticipation of the new year, we've embarked on a self-improvement kick to boost our backend (pun semi-intended). This will allow us to offer you a holiday promotion in the next few weeks (yes, we're listening and working very hard to make it happen). We sincerely appreciate your continued patience and support.
Holiday vgifts are here!

We've added some fantastic new vgifts to help you spread holiday cheer. We also hope you'll honor AIDS Awareness Month by purchasing virtual red ribbons. Priced at $2.99, we'll donate 100 percent of gross proceeds to IAVI.org (the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative) to support the development and global distribution of an affordable HIV vaccine.
Introducing: LJLimericksWe cordially here do invite you
To craft a fine limerick. Might you?
Each week, a new theme,
Then a poll, that's our dream
Winner posted on news to delight you!
In honor of all the brilliant writers on LiveJournal, we've created a brand new community: ljlimericks! Each week, we'll enter a handful of limericks into a poll (which we'll tuck snugly under an LJ-Cut). The winning poem will be published in the following newsletter. In addition, the author will receive a virtual blue ribbon! If you have the time, come drop us a rhyme. Please keep the "Nantucket" stuff on the downlow, since this is a youth-friendly community. Our first prompt is: Insomnia in winter.
Photos of the weekWe're back with more incredible images from our global photography community. Congratulations to sempre_marseeya, who has been awarded a virtual blue ribbon as the winner of our second lj_photophile poll.

We hate to squelch your creativity, but, as a courtesy to other users, please post only one photo at a time and keep the main photo no larger than 350x350 (so images display properly via mobile and on friends pages). You can link to a larger image and/or post photos under a cut. Just so you know, we select photos for the poll blindly, based on user comments and staff feedback. Please continue to vote, comment, and, of course, enjoy. You can check out the week in pictures and view more awesome user content after the jump! ( Read more... )

| Alrightey. Today proved to be rather fruitful. I am finally getting on with my after O's list. I am crossing out movies form the long list of movies I have yet to watch. A 13 year old was really helpful in giving me wonderful websites to do this. I was sitting in front of the monitor screen, giggling for the past 3 hours. I wonder what kind of an impression was my mother got. I told my floorball teacher in charge of VJ that I was going overseas for the next two weeks so that schedule would be cleaner for the next two weeks so that I would be able to concentrate for Christmas. Hopefully, he's not internet savvy and finds me out. I feel bad but it's MY holiday!! I choose what I want to do. Yeahh, I am rebel!! I found a way to stop my mum calling a couch potato and telling me to get off the computer. I opened the windows wide and told her I was getting fresh air at the same time. My throat is feeling like crap, I don't even remember who was the one who passed it to me. Normally, I remember them and curse them. Whoever passed it to me better own up. I have a deep suspicion it's EILEEN! Anyway, besides my bitter hatred for the passer of my cold. I better get back to watching movies.BYE - Mood:bouncy

| **FINAL EDIT Thu Dec 10 02:15:47 UTC 2009** So there is the final update... Over the past day we have processed around 11 million jobs out of the 12 million that were in queue at that time. Please bear in mind that over this past day, more jobs for notifications are also created. So while the queue has been dropping, we are still not fully caught up at this point, due to backlog and new jobs. We have roughly 3 million jobs still pending that involve the notification system in some manner. We had hoped we could have fully cleared the queue in a day, but unfortunately we can't clear it too quickly, since we need the rest of the site to operate normally. From our current perspective on the amount of jobs that are left in queue, and how many it has processed thus far, we believe it will take around another 8 - 12 hours to process everything. And finally some answers to some questions: ( Read More and Get Some Answers... ) | |

| Yesterday when I was at the bus stop home, @ arnd 8pm, I called my brother to see whether anyone's home becuz its a Saturday so grandparents and parents may be out with my brother then I've to wait outside the gate becuz I've no key. This was the conversation:
v "hello?" n "hello?" v "hello?" n "can you hear me?" v "hello? can you hear me?" n "hello?????"
Then I hanged up and called again and it repeated. I went home and clarified with my brother and we both realised that there was nothing wrong with my phone or his phone hahahaha. We both thought that we couldn't hear each other so we kept repeating hahahah.

| Last update was...24th Nov. Wow!!!
Honestly speaking, I can't really rmb what I've done. Most of the time I've been at home, being a couch potato and watching my drama ^^ but it only updates once a week so I've nothing to watch now :( Shall read my tweets to remind me!
25th Nov, went to Glenda's house then cycled to Aisyah's house to swim + tan. Became brown but has since faded :( Went Bugis after that to meet up with Aisyah & Nurul. Asked Preston out cuz we were so bored. He's going NS this Friday!!! Poor boy. 26th Nov, couch potato. 27th Nov, couch potato(!!).
28th Nov, couch potato(!!!).
29th Nov, bowling then to sitex fair to buy my brother a laptop which comes with a printer and many other stuffs. I want a Vaio :(
30th Nov, went to Glenda's house to stayover, again. Hahaha. Had prata for dinner, yumz. The prata shop at her house sells really good food. We ordered Naan for the first time and it was so shocking to see that its huge and only cost a dollar. And the curry was heavenly. Stayed up using the computer and watched some drama and fell asleep.
31st Nov, Bodyworld Exhibition @ The Science Centre!! Did I mention I love Science Centre? It never fails to amuse me hahaha. I sound like a nerd 8) Anyway..toured SC with 405 people. Our last gathering :( Entered the Bodyworld Exhibition and its so..solemn inside. I can't really explain it. You have to go see it yourself! Its really cool. Everything's real. The bodies, the animals. There's even a giraffe inside!! & reindeers!! and giant squid. They could remove everythign from your body other than your blood vessels. They can do that with your nerves and all sort of stuffs. Its really an eye opener.
(I feel like eating prata now. Hmm.)
1st - 4th Dec, COUCH POTATO.
5th Dec, Desaru trip!! Slept at 2am and woke up at 4.30am and survived till 2am with only 2.5 hrs of sleep. Gonna make a seperate post if not this will be too long. Shall show you how fat my face grew!! Its ROUND now. Seriously. :(
6th Dec, recuperate from the trip.
7th Dec, work!
I've lost interest in updating HAHAHA & yay!!!! going opp to buy some prata and naan ^^

| I feel like eating Yoguru/Japanese food really badly I think I'm going to get Yoguru tomorrow to satisfy my craving. And the next time I go to Sakae/Waraku/Sushi Tei with the Fingers/tennis bitches/whoever I won't eat anything the entire day just so that I can stuff my face with Jap food hahaha god I sound like such a glutton. TWO FIVERS IF YOU'RE READING THIS WE NEED TO GO TO GLADYS' JAPANESE RESTAURANT TO VISIT HER(and eat)!!! Spain won the Davis Cup again hehe I am happy I love the Spanish armada's victory hugs they're epic I swear :) Of course the win is good for Rafa too I hope next year will be better for him. Last night I watched Dr. Doolittle, Lion King II and Snow White - all in one shot. I hate Snow White she's so ugly and whiny and just plain irritating ugh give me Simba any day, the lions and lionesses all look better than Snow White. Oh and I just watched the sneak peeks for Deathly Hallows I CANNOT WAIT Harry Potter is awesome it beats Twilight hands down. Today Woman came to visit me at lunch then left to wander aimlessly ALONE at god knows where while waiting for her dye job, talk about a best friend, and a real one at that. Png is in Hong Kong, Shreya is in India, Diane is in Korea, Angie and Jing Yi are back from Malaysia and China respectively. I ... haven't gone anywhere yet. It's okay, I can wait and just pray that everything will be fine. Work's been bearable mmhm I feel so thankful everyday for the nice people I'm working with. Am having mixed feelings about the end of the week now gah. I MISS GERMAINE AND SHREYA AND DEBRA AND LOUISA AND MELISSA AND DIANE AND LYDIA AND KELLY AND ... XIAO MING. HAHAHA. Ok enough have a good week people may you survive till next year without Potter. | |
